Burro’s Tail/Donkey Tail

    • Watering: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Use the "soak and dry" method—water thoroughly until it drains out, then wait until the leaves look slightly wrinkled or the soil is bone dry to water again. In winter, reduce watering to roughly once a month.

    • Light: Thrives in bright light to full sun; 6-8 hours daily is ideal. Without sufficient light, the plant becomes leggy and sparse.

    • Non-Toxic: It's listed as safe by the ASPCA, meaning it won't cause poisoning if ingested by your pets.

    • Mild Upset Possible: While not poisonous, any plant consumed in large amounts can lead to mild digestive issues, so placing it out of reach is still a good idea.

    • Fertilizer: Feed lightly once or twice in the spring and summer using a balanced fertilizer diluted to half strength.

    • It does well in average household humidity.
